How many times have you assumed people are on the same page as you, only to find they are not even able to read? We assume equality and compatibility when we use the same words as others. The problem is we do not check definitions. This can happen in any situation. You may assume the person who hasn’t answered understands and agrees, or you may later find out that someone who used the same vocabulary as you didn’t mean the same things at all. Be careful. Ask questions. Do not assume. When we assume we may find ourselves belittling ourselves, our work, and our teachers. And we end up having been fools when we thought we were connecting or even informing.
